My thoughts 9th March 2008
Today and over the last week I have been very busy with my degree course at university. I have had to juggle art practice - for which I need to come up with some paintings to be photographed on the 13th of March, so that has been on my mind. Also I have had to contend with a contextual study that seems to take 3 paces forward and then 5 paces back. It is not as if I have not enough words in-fact I have about 3 times more than I need, at this point I could write 3 essays on my chosen subject.
Trying to work out the Mhra guide to referencing does not help either as one section contradicts another and it isnt as plainly written as I need. What happened to simplifying things for us beginers.
I have just spent all day going over each section of my essay, rewriting some parts and adding to others. I have only managed to get through 3 sections, as I have also been trying to sort out the footnotes and quotes.
I have also had to contend with a statement of intent this week, I think I am on my 5th draft. Every new draft I write seems to get longer and longer, I dont know when it will stop. I dont know how many words I need but lets just say ive got enough words for 2 statements of intent.
Due to the vast amount of work I have had to contend with my web design has hit a bit of a snag! I havent done as much as I had hoped, ah well my site is looking pretty smart, it just needs a bit of tweeking now and again.
Im really tired now I havent had a real break! day off for months! people dont realise how hard an art course is! there is no getting away from it ! it plays on your mind 24/7, even if you try to switch off it is just not possible.
I have a week left to get my essay sorted, well I say a week, more like 4 days! no sleep no tv or no rest till friday evening. Nothing new there then
